About Us

The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) at the City College of New York (CCNY) is dedicated to helping prepare Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science students for a successful career in industry.

IEEE CCNY is the only officially sponsored club by the Electrical Engineering Department. With cooperation from other clubs such as Eta Kapa Nu, Tau Beta Pi, and other engineering organizations, we are able to host many events throughout the year such as our classic Alumni Dinner and Student Professional Awareness Conference (SPAC)

The CCNY chapter of IEEE is aimed at educating electrical and computer engineering students about the practice of electrical and computer engineering. IEEE also aims to promote the involvement of the student body in extracurricular activities to instill a sense of leadership. It is one of the most active professional engineering clubs on campus.

Historically, the CCNY Chapter of IEEE is one of the first student organizations in the nation.  The Chapter has rightfully earned its place on the map through a diverse set of events that benefit the college community as well as the organization itself – events, workshops, seminars, info sessions, and competitions all geared at instilling fundamental engineering principles and stimulating the awareness of the vast availability of opportunities for engineers to advance themselves as engineering professionals.  Furthermore, IEEE CCNY aims to motivate student body members into pursuing self-development-oriented extracurricular activities in order to manifest invaluable leadership skills in themselves. As such, the Chapter strives to maintain its standard for continued excellence in the academic and professional development of its members to foster the deployment of proud, unrivaled engineers from CCNY, ready to face the challenging realities of both industries- and research-oriented careers.
